4 Days, 4 Carvings
A shop owner from Oklahoma here on vacation commissioned as many carvings as I could complete in four days. I was able to crank out a life-size cowboy, and three benches (a bear, a horse, and an eagle; the bear isn’t pictured):
20-foot totem – DONE!
Yesterday I finished carving a 20-foot totem for a homeowner in Blue River. Instead of a traditional, Inuit-style totem, the homeowner wanted it to reflect native Colorado plants, trees and animals. The replacement for Stolen Cowboy is nearly complete. He’s been roughed out; should finish detailing him tonight, painting tomorrow, and install in Breck shortly thereafter. Stay tuned for pictures of the finished piece!
