We officially moved into 111 Park Ave. in Kremmling on August 11. Here’s what the storefront looked like “before”:
The U-Haul trailers have since been removed, and the faux elk is gone, along with the mis-proportioned swing and fishing signage. We spent a week stain-killing, painting and scrubbing (the musty coal smell is finally gone!), and here’s where we are now:
The dated red fence has gotten a new, dark brown finish…
We power-washed the exterior and wacked some weeds. Next up for the exterior is to paint the header boards and trim…
The shop interior. Re-configured shelving, power washed, and moved in all the wood-working tools… Looking forward to finally having a place to display Mark’s collection of antique carving tools!
A peak at the studio. Original brick walls have been scrubbed top to bottom, and walls and ceiling transformed from chartreuse to white. The pictures are on consignment from an artist Mark met last weekend in Steamboat.
West-facing studio wall. The racks will eventually be used to display a collection of letterpress goods from Lodgepole Press, but now are providing a home for Mark’s pen-and-ink drawings. Mark will be building a barn-like door to separate the shop from the studio soon…
The front door and main window. The table is just a placeholder for more carvings arriving over the next two weeks. The nook that’s just out of frame on the left will be filled with book shelves housing Mark’s resource collection.
We’re looking forward to opening Labor Day weekend!
